Sa'd ibn Mu'adh
Believed in one sitting, led his clan to Islam by nightfall, and died of the Khandaq wound.
The account
Chief of the Aws in Madinah, he came to scold Mus'ab and sat down to listen; by evening he told his clan: your speech to me is forbidden until you believe, and Banu Abd al-Ashhal entered Islam in a night. At Badr he spoke the Ansar's loyalty into history: "Proceed, O Messenger of Allah, for by Allah, if you plunged into this sea we would plunge with you." At the Khandaq an arrow cut his arm-vein; he asked Allah to keep him alive only until he saw judgment upon Banu Qurayza; named their judge, he gave it in accordance with Allah's ruling from above the seven heavens, as the Prophet ﷺ said, and died of the reopened wound. The Prophet said: "The Throne of the Most Merciful shook at the death of Sa'd ibn Mu'adh."
