The meaning

What Sadaqallahu al-Azim means in Islam

The words are true in themselves and echo a phrase in Surah Al Imran. What scholars differ over is treating them as a fixed ending that must always follow recitation, since neither the Prophet nor the early generations are known to have made a habit of it. Some call it a harmless custom, others discourage making it a rule; leaving it out is not a fault.
