The meaning
What Munqati' means in Islam
The word means cut. It is the general term for a gap that is not at the start of the chain, not at the Companion's place at the end, and not two names deep, since each of those carries its own label. Any break makes a report weak, because the missing man is unknown and could be anyone at all.
