The meaning
What Maqtu' means in Islam
Maqtu' and munqati' look alike and mean different things. Maqtu' is about whose saying it is; munqati' is about a hole in the chain. Much early tafsir and early fiqh is maqtu' material, valuable for understanding but not evidence from the Prophet.
