The meaning
What Madani means in Islam
Madani passages generally deal with the shape of a community: law, family, treaties, warfare, hypocrisy and the People of the Book, and they often open with O you who believe. Their verses are usually longer. Around twenty eight surahs are classed as Madani, and for a few the classification is contested or mixed.
