The meaning

What Warsh an Nafi means in Islam

Uthman ibn Sa'id, nicknamed Warsh, took it from Nafi al-Madani, and it travelled west with the scholars of the Maghrib. Set beside Hafs it lengthens certain vowels further, handles some hamzahs more softly, and tilts some fathas towards a kasra. Nafi's other transmitter is Qalun, whose reading is used in Libya and parts of Tunisia.
