The meaning

What Sahihayn means in Islam

Both authors set out to include only what they judged authentic, and these two books were received by the community with an acceptance given to no others. A small number of their reports were criticised by later specialists such as al-Daraqutni, and most of those criticisms concern a particular chain rather than the meaning of the text. Saying a hadith is in the Sahihayn normally ends the argument about its authenticity.
