Dabbat al-Ard
When the word falls, the earth itself produces the announcer; after her speech no one is undecided.
The account
Her verse is explicit and singular: "When the word falls upon them, We will bring forth for them a creature from the earth speaking to them, that mankind was not certain of Our signs" (27:82). A land creature, from the earth, with intelligible speech, dispatched at the moment persuasion's era is formally closed. Muslim 2941 welds her timing to the western sunrise: whichever of the two comes first, the other follows close behind, and Muslim 158 counts her among the three signs after which a soul's new faith no longer avails it.
The sunan reports add the marking: the believer's face brightened, the denier's nose stamped, so that in the marketplace each would be called by what he is, O believer, O disbeliever. Those chains sit below the Sahihayn and the Codex says so, while noting that their meaning only restates the verse's function: after the Dabba, ambiguity is over for good. Her anatomy is deliberately withheld by revelation, and the Codex declines to invent what the Book concealed. Her full sequence stands at its Path chapter; her lesson stands at every mirror: the mark she stamps is the externalization of one being written now, choice by choice.
