Asked about fasting Mondays he named the day he was born

The Prophet ﷺ was asked about fasting on Mondays. He answered that it is the day he was born and the day he was sent, or the day revelation came down upon him. He fasted Mondays and Thursdays as a habit, and another report explains those two days as the days on which deeds are presented. The reference to his birth is the only place in the sound collections where he marks it, and what he does with it is fast. Rabi al-Awwal, the month he was born in, is also the month he died in and the month he reached Madinah, which is why the same weeks in the calendar carry three different memories.
