The meaning
What Khabar means in Islam
Three usages are recorded. Some treat khabar and hadith as the same thing. Some treat khabar as the wider word, covering reports from the Prophet and from anyone else. Some reserve hadith for the Prophet and khabar for everyone else, which is why early historians were called akhbariyyun.
