The chapter
"And it was said: O earth, swallow your water; O sky, withhold. And the water subsided, and the matter was concluded, and it settled on al-Judi, and it was said: Away with the wrongdoing people." Classical geographers placed al-Judi in the highlands of upper Mesopotamia; the Qur'an is more interested in what the mountain received than where it stood: a wooden vessel holding every believer alive on earth.
The disembarkation order is one of the gentlest verses after one of the most terrible scenes: "O Nuh, disembark in peace from Us, and blessings upon you and upon nations from those with you." Salam and barakah, peace and blessing, were the first two words of the new world. Every nation of mankind after the flood is, in the Qur'an's phrase, "from those with him." Humanity is a family of flood survivors.
The tradition remembers the landing with gratitude woven into worship. Reports in the sunan connect the fast of Ashura in its oldest layers to deliverance and thanksgiving, the rescued giving thanks by fasting, a practice the Prophet ﷺ later anchored to Musa's deliverance at the sea. Deliverance, in the grammar of the Path, is always answered with worship, not celebration alone.
And the ship itself was not allowed to vanish into legend: "We left it as a sign, so is there any who will remember?" The Qur'an treats the ark as a monument of mercy and warning at once. The same water that destroyed the deniers carried the believers; the same decree that drowned a son saved a community of strangers who shared nothing but faith.
From Judi the nations disperse, and forget. Within generations the Path reaches Ibrahim facing a world of idols again, as if the water had never come. The Codex places Judi here as the quiet hinge: mercy remembered for a moment, then history resuming its argument.
