Az-Zahir

The essay
He is the Manifest: nothing is above Him, and nothing is more evident. The Qur'an's argument for God is almost never a syllogism; it is a series of instructions to look: at the camel, at rain, at your own sleeping and waking. The evidence is not scarce. It is so continuous that it is easy to stop seeing, the way a person stops hearing a river he lives beside.
In the Qur'an
هُوَ ٱلۡأَوَّلُ وَٱلۡأٓخِرُ وَٱلظَّـٰهِرُ وَٱلۡبَاطِنُۖ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عَلِيمٌ
He is the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden, and He knows all things.
