The essay
Two Names from one root sit in this list, and the pair is a good example of why the enumeration should be read carefully rather than as a list of ninety-nine separate facts. Both say glory joined to generosity. The verse where the word is used of God is spoken by angels to a woman being told, in old age, that she will have a child: indeed He is Praiseworthy and Glorious. The setting is not accidental. Glory is being demonstrated as kindness.
In the Qur'an
They said: are you astonished at the command of Allah? The mercy of Allah and His blessings be upon you, people of the house. He is Praiseworthy, Glorious.
