Al-'Ali

The Most High

The essay

His highness is not a position in space, and the Book is careful about this: vision does not reach Him, nothing is like Him, He is not contained. What the Name says is that He is above every kind of deficiency and above the reach of every comparison. He is above needing you, above being affected by your praise or wounded by your denial. That is what makes turning to Him different from every other relationship you have.

In the Qur'an

His seat spans the heavens and the earth, and keeping them does not weary Him. And He is the Most High, the Magnificent.

Qur'an 2:255
