The essay
He makes honoured. Not popular, not comfortable: honoured, given real weight. The Qur'an's example is deliberately hard: the Prophet's community spent years despised in Makkah, and the honour arrived without the despising being removed first. Honour from Him and status among people are two different currencies with no fixed exchange rate, and the Book is blunt that only one of them will still be valid later.

وَتُعِزُّ مَن تَشَآءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَن تَشَآءُۖ بِيَدِكَ ٱلۡخَيۡرُۖ
You honour whom You will and You humble whom You will. In Your hand is all good.
