The longest verse in the Qur'an is about debt
Verse 282 of Surah al-Baqarah is the longest single verse in the Qur'an, longer than most of the short chapters. Its subject is not prayer or paradise. It is a commercial instruction: when you contract a debt for a fixed term, write it down, let a scribe write it justly, let the one who owes dictate, bring witnesses, and do not think it beneath you to write it down whether the sum is small or large. The verse anticipates objections, allows for a debtor who cannot dictate, and permits a pledge instead of a written record when travelling. The most space given to any one subject in a single verse goes to keeping an accurate record of what one person owes another.

الكُفْر
Kufr
Disbelief: rejecting or refusing what a person knows Allah has revealed.
The root means to cover, the way a farmer covers a seed with soil, so kufr is covering a truth that has already reached you. Scholars separate major kufr, which places someone outside Islam, from the lesser kufr that some texts use for serious sins committed by a believer. Deciding that a particular person is a disbeliever is a scholarly and judicial matter, not a conversational one.
