The essay
He brings down the ones who raised themselves. Every history is a list of this. But the same root gives the Qur'an's instruction to lower the wing of humility to your parents and to the believers, so the lowering is not only a punishment: it is also the posture of the one who is safe. He lowers the arrogant, and He lowers the heads of those who come to Him, and only one of the two is a fall.
